World Cup draw 2014

Football is the popular game in the world. The FIFA World Cup or World Cup is an international association football competition participated by the senior men’s national teams of the members of Federation International Football Association (FIFA). The championship takes place every four years and it was first played in 1930. Spain is the defending champion of the tournament in South Africa 2010. There are 32 teams who are participating for the title it was just 13 teams in 1930 world cup and it became 16 in 1934 world cup the number of participating team increased from 16 to 24 in 1982 world cup and from 1998 it became 32 till now.  Brazil is the host country in 2014 world cup. Total 19 world cup tournaments have been held and there are 8 different countries who won the title. Brazil is the most successful country with five titles and they are the only team to participate in every tournament. Italy won four times, Germany won three times, Uruguay and Argentina won two times and England, France and Spain won one time each. Ronaldo (Brazil) is the leading goal scorer with 15 goals followed by Gurd Mullar and Miroslav Klose of Germany with 14 goals. Portugal, France and England played playoff match to qualify for world cup. Portugal beat Sweden by 4-2 goals in which Cristiano Ronaldo scored all 4 goals and Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Sweden replied brace for the team. C. Ronaldo scored hat-trick in the second leg match. Gareth Bale of Real Madrid and Wales, Peter Cech of Chelsea and Czech Republic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic of PSG and Sweden and Robert Lewandowski of Doutmand and Poland are the some star footballers who will miss the upcoming world cup tournament. C. Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Hugeine, Ronney, Robin Van Persie, Roben, Benzama, Ribery will be the star footballers to play in upcoming world cup 2014.  German’s forward Miroslav Klose may break the record set by Ronaldo (Brazil).  Following s is the world cup draw of 20th world cup 2014.

Total 32 teams are divided in to 8 groups each.  Host nation Brazil will play Croatia, Mexico and Cameroon for the sixth title and Brazil is grouped in the very easy group. The tough group will be Group D consisting Uruguay, Costa Rica, England and Italy and it is the group of death of the tournament. Group B will be interesting too where we will remind the final match of 2010 between Spain and Netherlands. Portugal will play with Germany, Ghana and USA in Group G. France got the easy group as they are going to play with Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras so second round will be easy for them. Brazil may face Spain or Holland in the second round.
