Nelson Mandela dies at the age of 95

The Nobel peace winner, Nelson Mandela ( 18 July 1918- 5 December 2013) who had spend about three decades as a political prisoner before going to be a first black president at South Africa died on Thursday, December 5 2013 at the age of 95. He took his last breath at his Johannseburg home surrounded by his family members.  Mandela was the South Africa’s first black president and was the icon of the struggle against racial domination. South African President Zacob Zuma said’’ the nation has lost its greatest hero’’. Nelson Mandela will get a state funeral and national flags will be lowered to half mast. Mandela had been receiving the medical treatment for last three years for prolonged lung infection and he was in seriously ill for last six months. He was in prison for 27 years due to his group’s armed wing and was tireless struggle for freedom, justice and humanity for the South Africa.
Nelson Mandela was not just a hero, but a hero of all time and his journey from a prisoner to a president alive the promise that human beings and countries can change for the better.
