Keeping aside their differences two big political parties, Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML on Sunday forged a seven point deal paving the way for the formation of new government which will be headed by the NC president Sushil Koirala. According to the seven points agreement between NC and CPN-UML, latter will vote for Koirala on Monday for Prime Minister and also the parliamentary party leader of the NC. With the election of Koirala, the country will get new elected executive head after 21 months of the dissolution of the first Constitution Assembly (CA). In the same deal two largest party of Nepal have also agreed to endorse the incumbent president Ram Baran Yada and vice president Parmananda Jha through new parliament. This agreement was signed by NC president Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML chairperson Jhalanath Khanal on Sunday. After this agreement UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) said that his party has taken this agreement in positive way and it may play a constructive role in the constitution drafting.
Sunday’s points of the agreement
a) Constitution in a year
b) Endorsement of agreements on issues of new constitution as reached by the parties through first constituent assembly.
c) Election of new president and vice president from the house
d) CPN-UML to support Sushil Koirala for Prime Minister election
e) Drafting a common minimum policy, programme and code of conduct of the government within a week.
f) NC to support CPN-UML for CA chairman post
g) Ownership of the progress made by previous CA.
Finally two biggest parties of Nepal agreed on a deal and they agreed to bring constitution in a year, it was their first agreement and if they along with other remaining parties support them constitution in a year won’t be a big deal for them. Koirala is a lone candidate for Prime Minister Election in the parliament this time on Monday. In 2011, there has been election for 7th times in the House as the Prime Ministerial candidate failed to secure majority votes. Koirala will become the 6th Prime Minister of Nepal after the first CA election in 2008

From 14 March 2013 to till now (February 10 2014) Khil Raj Regmi is the acting Prime Minister of Nepal and he is not associated with any political party. The main problem behind for Prime Minister has been their short period of time among 5 Prime Ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal became for 622 days( 1 year plus) remaining Prime Minister even don’t; have a year period of time. If a Prime Minister is given 3-5 years time they can contribute to us. What we have to see is that can Koirala lead our country to the success, peace and prosperity. We wish best of luck for him.
